Plenty of Empties Part II

Empties Part II!

Clarins UV Plus HP SPF 40 Sunscreen $41 - As you can see the bottle was well loved. I rubbed most of the writing off the bottle. That kind of irked me since it was a pretty expensive sunscreen. No I did not keep the box... it is from the new bottle that I just opened. I normally find that I say I will repurchase things but when I actually DO it, it just goes to show you how amazing it is! This sunscreen doesn't clog my pores and doesn't make my face feel super greasy. It's main active ingredient is Titanium Dioxide which is my sunscreen of choice. I like that it is physical and the white cast on this product is minimal. You have to shake the bottle vigorously and the is a little ball in the bottle and I quite like the sound it makes. I have a couple of sunscreens I been eyeing that are available in Asia so when I finish this bottle I might be switching to something else out of curiosity. This is always be my go to sunscreen.
Repurchase: Yes! Already on Bottle 2!
Rating: Holy Grail!

Lumene Finland Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover $5-$6 - I needed a new makeup remover because I was not going to splurge on my beloved Lancome one. I found this on the Walgreens website and decided its cheap why not. This definitely fits the stereotype that two phase removers are oily and greasy. This is what that felt like to me. It left my face feeling greasy. I could drench a oil absorbing sheet after using this on my eyes. Now the makeup remover worked great. It does what it says and even takes off my MAC Liquid Last. I won't repurchase this because of the greasy factor. I found something else within the same price range that I love a lot more. ^^
Repurchase: No
Rating: No Way!

Lancome Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover (GWP size) - Love it. I think I only have one more bottle this size which I will probably be saving. So this might be the last time you see this in an empties.... at least till the next time Lancome does a good GWP offer... *evil grin*
Repurchase: Maybe, if I wanted to splurge!
Rating: Holy Grail

Clean & Clear Persa-Gel 10 $5-8 - This is a 10% benzoyl Peroxide cream. It dries out my pimples. If applied early enough it will dry it out even before a white head pops up. However as expected it dries the area around the pimple also. I am usually left with a flaky dried up bump on my face if I apply a little too liberally. I have find the sweet spot between clarity and dry flaky bump. I purchased a new pimple cream to try. The La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo which was sparked by Liz at Beauty Reductionista. Go check her out!

Rating: Okay

Lancome Genifique Concentrate (GWP size) - I had a few of these so I am sure this was in a previous empties. This is my favorite Lancome serum. I am debating purchasing this in the future. Maybe after I reduce my stash a bit.
Repurchase: Maybe
Rating: Hurray!

Lancome Absolue Premium Replenishing Cream SPF 15 (GWP size) - This is part of the Premium crazily priced line at Lancome. I didn't like this at all. It was a very generous sized product. I was using this for a while. In the winter when I was lazy (which is pretty much on the daily) I would use this without sunscreen because hey, I spend maybe 10 minutes outdoors during my work commute anyways so what is the point of slapping on extra SPF? This cream left my face really greasy. I did like that it was thick since it was winter when I was using it but I would avoid at all costs in the warmer months. I was big greasy mess and usually I would slap on some setting powder even if I wasn't wearing makeup just to take away some of the shine my skin after using this. On a positive note, it was very pleasantly light floral scented. I can still smell it in the empty jar.

Boscia Peppermint Blotting Sheets $5-$10 - I bought this a few years ago around Christmas when Sephora sells this for $5. I prefer the powdery blotting sheets that turn transparent and are really disgusting to look at than these. In comparison after usage the blotting sheet is very subtle and even if you were a greasy mess, a stranger watching you blot your face wouldn't know it. It changes a slight shade deeper when the oil is "absorbed". It is more discreet that the other ones but I also feel it does not absorb as well as the other ones. If your not too oily and you like discreet you might like this. The Peppermint was just for scent in my opinion and does nothing for oil absorption or prevention.

Nexcare Acne Care - I finished a lot of the stuff Jacq sends me so it must mean she has impeccable taste! I love these pimple stickers. I think they really do work for me but my skin has been a lot better lately and I am no longer consistently fighting breakouts everyday so this might be the last box you see in a while.

LIPS!

NYX Gloss in Peach $2-$3? - I bought so many of these years ago and HURRAYYYYY finally finished one. I think I was applying it liberally at work. I think it kind of dried out my lips a little bit but most glosses do that on me. It did look pretty on but it travels just a little bit. I just browsed the NYX website and I didn't see this type of gloss anymore so I assume this has been discontinued.

MUFE Lab Shine Lip Gloss in S2 Star Collection - I got this mini in a Birchbox and I LOVE IT! Glosses have been growing on me lately. Lipsticks seem so flat to me now so I have been loving glosses. This gloss is so pretty and amazing! I plan to repurchase this after I get rid of some of my other glosses.
Repurchase: Maybe
Rating: Hurray!

Laura Mercier Lip GlacĂ© in Opal - Another mini gloss I received in a Birchbox. I did love this gloss. It felt nice and the color was subtle. However this little tube leaked all over my makeup bag THREE times. I couldnt figure out what it was and I thought it was because I didn't close it tight enough but who knows at this point. I don't think I will have a problem with the full size but the color wasn't amazing enough that I would buy the full size.
Repurchase: No
Rating: Okay

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 - This was a birthday gift from Sephora two years ago? Maybe? I didn't particularly like this but I used to finish it. If I apply too liberally and outside my lips I find that the edges get itchy and I am prone to breakouts. If I stay within my lips its fine. It was moisturizing and it did what it said but I wasn't particularly impressed.

Rating: Okay

Blistex Simple and Sensitive $1 - I picked this up at Walmart because it was only $1 and I am attracted to things that promote simplicity... damn advertising tactics! Well it was only $1 so why not? It wasn't anything special and isn't moisturizing to use at night. I finished it up at the office as a base for my lipstick/gloss.
Repurchase: No
Rating: Okay

Crabtree and Evelyn Jojoba Oil Conditioning Lip Balm $4 - This is a really good lip balm. I use it mostly at night. One down side it tends to be a little on the greasy side, most likely because of the Jojoba oil.
Repurchase: No
Rating: Okay

Watson's Square Puffs - I bought this when I was in Thailand. I think I dropped my cotton squares on the plane so I needed something to use. I really do like these a lot! They are the same size as the Shiseido Cotton squares but half the thickness. When I finished these I went back my Shiseido cotton squares and I think I prefer the thinner Watson's ones. I feel like I am using less product to saturate the pad. Sadly I don't have access to these but I am on the lookout for comparable cotton squares.
Repurchase: Yes if I am in Asia
Rating: Hurray

Makeup remover wipes $1 - I picked this up because it was cheap and I wanted something to clean on swatches on my hand and not waste my more expensive face wipes. This did the job but I would not use it on my face. Its heavy fragrance is very off-putting.
Repurchase: No
Rating: Okay
