Love Packages from Jacq

So I was going through my unposted blog posts and I saw this in there.... I swore I posted this back in June... And Some of my pictures are missing... but at least I got the group shot!
Sorry Jacq! ><

After a stressful day nothing beats coming home and seeing packages with your name on them. The best part? When you check the sender and it is from your favorite bloggers the excitement cannot be described.

My desk was almost incapable of holding all the products I received.

I am still slowing going through each product to discover gems in this stash.

Its been two months have I still haven't gone through everything! Jacq you are too generous...

Groceries @ Trader Joe's

So I got back from my trip to Michigan's Upper Peninsula on Wednesday and I needed some groceries. I been really into smoothies lately. Mostly because its so much work to make a salad, its easier to throw it in a blender and drink it! I finished up most of perishables before I left so I needed to restock. All that greasy fried food (Though super delicious) wasn't helping me in the whole getting a better body goal.

I headed straight to my Trader Joe's (Right after a gym class of course xD) and picked up the following groceries.

Kale and Spinach. I just grab a handful, wash em and blend them and I don't have to worry about my greens. =D

The key to making any green smoothie sweet is an apple! The baby tomatoes are for me to snack on.

I also picked up some berries to sweeten things up. I usually dont put a lot. I do love the frozen pineapple in my smoothies because it does wonders. I use to buy a bag of mixed berries but they always have blackberries and if I make smoothies for my dad or my brother they hate the seeds.

I also picked up some grapes. I remember watching a video on Michelle1218 eating habits and she mentioned she freezed grapes. (I rewatch that video for ideas all the time!) I tried it with these grapes here which I never had before but there was sign that said "End of Summer Special" so I shrugged and said why not?
They are absolutely AMAZING!!!! SO GOOD. Today is Saturday and I bought these on Thursday and started eating them yesterday and they are all gone... T.T I need to get my hands on more ASAP!!!
They taste best frozen, I ate one after I washed them and the skin was too tart for me. When you freeze them you don't notice the tart taste. (I wash them and pull them off their vines and pop them into a container and stick that in the freezer)
They are fairly expensive, this whole box was almost $4 which I think is a lot compared to other grapes.

I also picked up two packets of these smoked salmon pieces. They are sooo good and I can eat one pack in one sitting. I find they are not overly salty compared to other smoked salmon.

I also picked up some snacks for work. The string cheese is a great pick me up and my coworkers also love it. I love the Monterey Jack. The string cheese is the first time I am buying this. Its okay. I prefer the Monterey Jack.

So these peas... omg so good. They aren't packed full of salt and its addictive! My coworkers love it too!

They always have flowers at Trader Joe's. They were exceptionally breathtaking this day. I never buy any because I am never home and I am lazy about the upkeep. My coworker at work is allergic to flowers so when he is mean to me I joke about sending myself flowers. hehe

What it feels like to lose a part of you....

Those where the emotions I felt when I was browsing a fruit stand in Toronto. On and some good for nothing piece of poop decided it was okay to pick pocket my iPhone 5.

I hope they trips and falls in dog poo and breaks their front teeth and then stabbed by the glass that just happens to be on the floor.

Yes I am a very spiteful person.

My phone was my baby. I loved it, it was there to keep me company during my claustrophobic daily commute. It connected to my friends, to blogs as well as current events.

Not to mention it takes 10 hours by bus to get home from Toronto and I had to suffer through that without my phone. ( I did have my friends iPod Nano or else I would have gone crazy.)

I've always been a klutz and I constantly lose things but never have I lost my phone. I had a plan, if I was to ever get robbed, I rather throw my phone on the floor hence shattering it than hand it over but this took me by surprise....

Luckily for me I have lovely friends that asked around so I wouldn't have to she'll put $700 for a new phone because I didn't have insurance...(Which by the way is ridiculous!!)

My manager lent me his work phone to use whilst I was without a phone... I felt so loved... (He was secretly trying to convert me to Android... It didn't work)

One of my besties boyfriends sister had an extra iPhone 4s sitting around which she was nice enough to sell it to me for cheap! I was so excited to have a phone to call my own again!!!

Although it weighs a ton compared to my iPhone 5, it runs on 4G and is 32gb so I think I will be able to survive till next September when my phone plan expires.

Luckily I had an iPhone so my iTunes had a backup of my phone with my notes, apps etc etc so restoration was simple.

I feel whole again. Ari and phone united once again!!

After reading that long rant, Please enjoy this sunset picture I took when I went to Lake Superior. (With my iPhone 4s)

What I've been up to

I wanted to talk about things that have taken over my life recently.

I've started a diet called Medifast on March 5th 2013. I still have problems sticking to plan sometimes which is a real fail on my part. I do love this diet and I truly believe it works even though I have no self control sometimes. Medifast has taught me to control my portion sizes and I drink a lot of water a day.

Along with this diet, I joined a gym April 24th 2013. The gym I joined is Lucille Roberts. There are tons of gym choices in NYC. Why did I chose this gym?

1. It's cheap. I pay a little over $16 a month and a $15 biannual fee.

2. There aren't personal trainers walking around. I been to a few gyms and I always feel like the trainers there are like vultures, staring at you, about to swoop in and tell me I'm doing something wrong and I should buy there classes and its the right thing to do and charge me an arm and a leg whilst sounding righteous and not buying their package will only be harmful to me. Now I have to leave a caveat after saying something like that. I am sure not all personal trainers are like that but I have not had good experiences with any of the ones that have approached me and this is purely my experiences.

3. They have a ton of classes. I am not the type of person who can go in and run on a treadmill and work on machines. I don't have the discipline and frankly it bores me and I won't be able to do that in the long run. They offer 45 minute classes like Zumba and toning classes which I love. You sweat and ache but it feels amazing.

4. It's an all women's gym. Now I didn't care about going to a gym with guys before but I have noticed that I feel more relaxed at my gym. Also there isn't the horrid gym smell. Not sure if the absence of males has anything to do with it.

Somehow this post turned into gym talk and almost sounds like a promotional post lol.

So why have I been gone for over 2 months? Simple. I am lazy. I am also losing interest in beauty. I still love to put on makeup and going into Sephora and swatching colors and browsing. But after years of purchase after purchase the excitement is no longer there. I buy something and chances are it will sit on my shelf or a drawer when i get home. There hasn't been much excitement for me. I still browse the displays every time I go into a drugstore but there is nothing new. Nothing that makes me yearn. Luckily I appropriately named this blog. When I first started I was passionately obsessed with beauty. I will include other things that I am loving. Hopefully the won't turn too many of you off.

NOTW?? More like Nail of the two days - Julep Reese

It's been a while since I've done NOTW posts.

Julep's Reese is a beautiful blueish pink.

I love my other two Julep polishes that I own. This one however is horrible!

I was shaking forever before I heard the little ball in the bottle. Even then the polish applied very thick and streaky. The above picture was with 3-4 coats.

As for longevity, I painted it Sunday night and it started chipping by Tuesday afternoon.

I rarely paint my nails anymore because I hate the look of chipped polish. I spend all day at my desk typing so I like to have nice nails. Is anyone as anal as I am?? I don't like to see chipped polish... It's unprofessional =[

Update: Had to take the polish off, it started chipping too much to be repaired. It actually managed to stain my nails pink!!! Omgosh!
