Flames on Nails

I found this awesome Youtube nail tutorial a few weeks ago.  The Youtuber, midniteblue716 was inspired by the Hunger Games so she did a loose adaptation of the flames on the cover of the first book.  It was creative of her to do marbling to create the flames.  I love how she didn't take it literal and painted orange flames.

It is surprisingly easy to do so check it out at here.

Fashion's Night Out

Last Thursday (September 6th) was Fashion's Night Out. A couple of friends and I decided to hit the town! This is the 3rd year for FNO and my second time attending.

My goals were to check out the shops, (look for freebies) and of course admire the fashion.

Here is a shot of Bergdorf Goodman. I thought it was so cute how they decorated the building!

My Previous Lip Color                                 Shiseido's Lip Laquer in 501

They gave everyone a freebie lippy, not sure why the box was so big though... the lippies weren't available for purchase at Uniqlo but they did write it down for us in case you liked the color. I let the MU pick my color for me and she used the one she was wearing!

Sorry there aren't more pictures, we got preoccupied. At H&M stores they were offering 30% off one item which my friend was super excited about! I wasn't looking into making any purchases but I came out with a new jacket =____= She however couldn't find anything! lol

They also gave us a coupon for future purchases!

We also stopped by Juicy Couture because there was so many people! (we wanted to see what was going on) It was so crowded we had to leave within minutes. They were also giving out samples of their new Viva La Juicy La Fleur perfume which I will probably give away.

We also went to Saks but pretty much every store and street was so full of people it was hard to take pictures (Or remember to take them!)

On our way home we did pass by this street sign which we thought was hilarious!

I love going out with my girlfriends and FNO was a great experience. I know they have events in most major cities. What was your FNO experience?

Makeup Forever Aqua Liner Review

Continuing on my quest for a new eyeliner I decided to try the Makeup Forever Aqua Liner.

The brush is very stuff and unlike the Lancome Artliner doesn't have any give.

The eyeliner is very pigmented and is easy to maneuver. The formula is much better than the Urban Decay liquid liner. (My review here) It isn't too runny and can be layered if desired.

This is the liner with one pass of makeup remover. It doesn't come off with just one swipe, you will need to hold the makeup remover over your eye or do a little rubbing to get this off.

Now this is my problem with this liner, like the Urban Decay 24/7 it flakes.

Here is a shot of the cotton pad I used to remove the liner. Notice the liner has small flakes and clumps in certain areas.

Depending on how I wear this, it might or might not come off. For the majority, I think lasting power of this liner will not be a problem. Unlike the Urban Decay liner, even when this liner flaked in certain areas it did not flake little pieces all over my eye.

I think this liner has decent lasting power considering most liners would have disappeared or smudged into a black eye. The flaking along the lash line is minimal.

The formula is smooth and pigmented. The applicator is stiff which makes lining the eye very easy. I normally prefer a more flexible tip however I found this to be very easy to maneuver. The liner has a good staying power. It did smudge on me towards the lash line but isn't many that doesn't. Considering the amount of smudging I would highly recommend this for others. This liner didn't irritate my eyes which is another plus for me! My only problem with this liner is when removing the  liner the formula like the Urban Decay causes it to flake off. It could easily get into the eyes when removing the makeup which is a nono for me. If you like the Urban Decay 24/7 liner, this formula is much better and I would recommend this over the Urban Decay.

Packaging: 8/10
Price: $23
Results: 7/10
Longevity: 8/10
Scent and Texture: 8/10 (no scent)
Repurchase: No
Holy Grail: No
Recommend: Yes
(While this didn't work for me I think there are people that would like this)

Where to buy: Sephora

I think I will go back to the drugstore and pick up a L'Oreal Linear Intense liner. It is most similar to the Lancome and I think my quest for a new liquid liner might need to be put on hold...

August 2012 Empties

The last two weeks of August zoomed right past me! I can't believe it is September already!

Don't have too much this month. I have a couple of reviews planned for the items I finished.

CS-Being cotton squares - One of the packs I picked up at Mitsuwa (Haul here) I use these to remove makeup, apply toner, remove nail polish and even to wipe down my laptop screen! They are not as good as the Shiseido ones however at 1/4 the price... I will survive. =)

Shiseido Purness Oil-Control blotting Paper - Got this in a Birchbox a while back. (Post here) I am not impressed with these at all. They remind me of the Bosica Blotting papers. I don't think they remove oil all from skin and I can see the need to go through a few sheets before you are done. I won't be purchasing these and I don't recommend them.

Mopidicks - My brother and his girlfriend hauled a few bottles of this back from their trip in Hong Kong back in 2010. It is used to relieve itchiness from mosquito bites. (Don't know if it has any other uses) I have been having a particularly bad month and finished the bottle. I am halfway through the last bottle we have!! I need to find more of this! It does help with itch relief. Does anyone have any remedies to mosquito bites? I attract mosquitoes like flowers attract bees...

Burt's Bees Outdoor Bug Bite Relief - I got this in a 7-Eleven in Taiwan. I love this stick! It smells lemon-menthol-ish and it does help relieve itch! I can't seem to find it here in the States. The packaging is completely in English which was surprising to me.

Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse BB cream SPF 25 PA++ - I got this from a Birchbox (Post here) and I was so excited to try it! I was very underwhelmed. It smells like a sunscreen and it is very sheer coverage. It comes off very dewy on my skin and it didn't apply well on my skin. I felt as if it was moving around a little too much. Would not repurchase or recommend.

L'Oreal Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Daily Serum - I got about 3 uses from this little packet. The serum is light and absorbs quickly. Texture wise it is mildly gel like and translucent. It had a perfumed scent that wasn't unpleasant. It didn't linger on the skin however the scent is apparent upon application. I don't feel that this serum hydrating or did felt like anything special. I will not purchase.

Suave Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo - I bought this to take with me to Costa Rica a while back and I absolutely love it! I already repurchased and will do a full review soon.

Kracie Purenavi Cleansing Oil - I finally finished a bottle of cleansing oil!! I purchased this last October I think! I want to do a review on this soon also. I already purchased a new cleansing oil to try and I still have one that will hopefully be finished this month.

That's it for my empties this month. We are only 4 days into September but I have a feeling it is going to be a good empties month. I already have 3 products done! I have a bunch of reviews planned, just have to sit myself down and get typing! hehe
