So my friend had purchased this groupon for $20 to spend at Viva la Crepe. She is a crepe lover and it seemed like it would be interesting.
51 Spring St
(between Mulberry St & Lafayette St)
New York, NY 10012
We were starving when we got there so we ordered one savory and one sweet crepe to share.
The savory crepe was the...
Smoked Salmon, Creamed Spinach and Capers Crepe
(we also asked to include chicken)
This was very delicious! I loved it! However... they forgot to ask the chicken and we were too far into the crepe so we decided not to say anything.
The sweet crepe we ordered was the
Dulce de Leche Crepe
(with almonds and mixed berries)
I liked the sweet crepe, however they forgot the almonds in this crepe. Their were plenty of berries and they all tasted fresh and this crepe was on the heavy side. We had problems trying to get into the crepe we had to get a fork!
I thought the napkin holder was cute, it had the menu on it, however since you ordered at the door this seemed kind of redundant since your order should have been placed before sitting down.
Overall this was a pleasant experience. I would probably not come back here anytime soon. There are a lot of crepe places popping up all over the city, I think I would venture elsewhere. If you were to visit this place I would highly recommend the Smoked Salmon crepe. The only negative suggestion would be to stay away from the extras. In both crepes they forgot to include something. The extras range from $.50 to $1.50 depending on what you get. Since we purchased a Groupon, we were already paying less than the menu price, however if I was paying full price I would probably be more upset.
